The method comprises the following process steps: 1) taking dry calyx of hibiscus sabdariffa, adding ethanol water to extract, and concentrating the extracting solution to obtain alcohol extract of hibiscus sabdariffa; 2) adding water into the alcohol extract of hibiscus sabdariffa for suspending, extracting with cyclohexane for 1-3 times, extracting with n-butyl alcohol for 1-3 times, and concentrating the n-butyl alcohol extraction part; and 3) enabling the n-butyl alcohol extract obtainedin the step 2) to pass through an ODS (Ozone Depleting Substance) chromatographic column, eluting and removing impurities with methanol, eluting with the methanol, collecting the methanol elution part, concentrating and drying. The invention provides the method for extracting the hibiscus sabdariffa extract.
