Problems solved by technology

Among them, the Chinese invention patent application CN103233197A adopts low vacuum pressure to increase the free path of ions generated by glow discharge, so that the energy of ions can be increased when they bombard the surface, so low-temperature nitriding can be realized; but the nitriding time of this prior art is still very long

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for conducting low-temperature efficient rapid ion nitriding on the surfaces of a steel workpiece. The method includes the steps that a metal cleaning agent is adopted to remove oil stains on the surface of the workpiece, the pretreated workpiece is fixed to a workpiece rack, a door of a vacuum chamber is closed, and the workpiece rack is started to rotate; the vacuum chamber is pumped until the background vacuum is lower than 1*10<-2> Pa; an assisting heating device is started, the vacuum chamber containing the workpiece is heated to the temperature of 150-200 DEG C; argon is introduced in, a plasma beam is obtained through a hollow cathode ion source, the furnace wall of the vacuum chamber is an anode, and the workpiece rack is a cathode; working gas is introduced, and direct-current bias voltage of 600-800 V is applied to the workpiece; high-ionization-rate plasma containing the working gas is obtained, and the whole test sample is covered with the plasma; and the thickness of a nitriding layer is controlled. The growth rate of the nitriding layer can reach 30-50 micrometers per hour.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for improving the surface hardness of a steel work piece, in particular to a treatment method for rapidly obtaining surface hardening of a steel material at low temperature by using an ion source assisted ion nitriding, and belongs to the field of surface modification of metal materials. Background technique [0002] Iron-based materials such as high-speed tool steel, die steel and austenitic stainless steel are widely used in various fields of modern machinery manufacturing industry. In order to improve the surface hardness of workpieces made of these materials, many technologies have been developed, but ion nitriding is still an important and widely used method. Traditional ion nitriding uses normal glow discharge under higher vacuum pressure (400-600Pa) and higher processing temperature (450-600℃) to achieve ion nitriding. It usually takes about 10 hours to obtain about 100 Micron nitriding layer. Long-term nitriding a...
