The defects of surface transverse cracks of the casting blanks and corner transverse cracks of the casting blanks are overcome by setting an ultra-thick slab continuous casting secondary cooling mode. Different pulling rates are set according to the thickness and the width of the slabs, and the problem of center segregation of the ultra-thick slabs is solved through low-pulling-rate casting. The process has the advantages that the process is simple and high in generalization performance, the applicable thickness specification range of the continuous casting slabs is from 400mm to 600mm, and the width specification range is from 1600mm to 3000mm.
