Abstract

The invention discloses a method for removing suspended particulate matters from urban air by using soil algae. The method comprises the following steps of: (a), preparation of algae strains: grinding and flattening a crust layer on the surface of soil, transferring the generated bacterial colony from a solid culture medium to a BG11 liquid culture medium, and screening dominant strains; (b), algae culture: culturing a large quantity of screened algae strains in an open runway culture tank by using the BG11 liquid culture medium; (c), assembly of algae and carriers: mixing dry algae powder and cotton fibers serving as the carriers and weaving into grey cloth, or coating algae filaments in calcium alginate granules serving as the carriers; and (d), use and maintenance of an algae-carrier composite system: directly hanging the woven wick cotton grey cloth on an outer wall of a building or a railing of a road, and preparing curtains from the calcium alginate granules, wherein the curtains are mainly hung indoors. By the method, adsorption and fixation are realized; and permanent fixation of the suspended particulate matters is realized, and the adsorption and fixation capabilities of the algae are not limited at a low temperature due to the eurythermal property of the algae.
