Abstract

The invention discloses odorless trichloroethane. The odorless trichloroethane comprises the following components, by mass, 99.9-99.95% of trichloroethane, 0.05-0.1% of methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT)-cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (CMT). The invention further discloses a preparation method for the odorless trichloroethane. The method is characterized by: adding vinyl chloride (VC) and chlorine gas to a chlorination tower to carry out a chlorination reaction to prepare 1,1,2-trichloroethane, wherein the amount of the VC is the same as the amount of the chlorine gas; then adding a NaOH solution having a NaOH concentration of 30% to the 1,1,2-trichloroethane to carry out neutralizing and saponifying in a washing groove to prepare colourless 1,1,2-trichloroethane; placing the colourless 1,1,2-trichloroethane in a distillation tower to carry out distillating; adding the MMT-CMT to the resulting distilled product from the distillating treatment, and carrying out stirring at a temperature of 50 DEG C to prepare the odorless trichloroethane. According to the present invention, the odor of the trichloroethane is improved without changing the chemical property of the trichloroethane and the application effect of the trichloroethane.
