Problems solved by technology

[0005] At present, a personal draft proposed by France Telecom in the PWE3 engineering group of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) can only realize the statistics of the number of links between the egress PE and the receiver CE and target the number of links between the PE and the receiver CE. For any link between the recipient CE, each leaf PE node needs to send an LDP notification message carrying different TAII information to the root node, which is too complicated to implement; at the same time, for the root node PE, obtain the Link information method, currently, there is no solution

Embodiment 1

[0085] In this embodiment, the Statistic TLV is carried by an extended LDP notification message.

[0086] Figure 7This is a flowchart of a method for obtaining link information in a Layer 2 VPN network in Embodiment 1 of the present invention, as shown in Figure 7 As shown, the method for obtaining link information in a Layer 2 VPN network in Embodiment 1 includes the following steps:

[0087] Step 71: The egress PE counts the number of links between it and the receiver CE, the minimum MTU, the minimum rate and the maximum rate.

[0088] As described in step 21, PE2 and PE3 will generate statistical information as shown in Table 1 and Table 2 respectively.

[0089] Step 72: The egress PE sends an LDP advertisement message carrying the Statistic TLV to the ingress PE.

[0090] If the egress PE is a leaf node of the PW tree, the egress PE sends an LDP notification message to the ingress PE to notify the state of its PW access circuits (Access Circuits, AC for short). Here,...

Embodiment 2

[0093] In this embodiment, the extended PW OAM message is used to bear the Statistic TLV. In MPLS-TP, if the tunnel and the pseudowire are configured statically, the root node can count the number of links, the minimum MTU, the minimum rate and the maximum rate between the egress PE and the receiver CE by extending the PW OAM message and other information needs.

[0095] Step 81: The egress PE counts the number of links between it and the receiver CE, the minimum MTU, the minimum rate and the maximum rate.

[0096] As described in step 21, PE2 and PE3 will generate statistical information as shown in Table 1 and Table 2 respectively.

Embodiment 3

[0101] In this embodiment, the extended BGP update message is used to bear the Statistic TLV.

[0102] Figure 9 This is a flowchart of a method for obtaining link information in a Layer 2 VPN network in Embodiment 3 of the present invention, as shown in Figure 9 As shown, the method for obtaining link information in the Layer 2 VPN network in Embodiment 3 includes the following steps:

[0103] Step 91: The egress PE counts the number of links between it and the receiver CE, the minimum MTU, the minimum rate and the maximum rate.

[0104] As described in step 21, PE2 and PE3 will generate statistical information as shown in Table 1 and Table 2 respectively.

[0105] Step 92: the egress PE sends a BGP update message carrying the Statistic TLV to the ingress PE.

[0106] For the format of the Statistic TLV see image 3 . The MP_REACH_NLRI attribute in the BGP update message carries the BGP address family (Address Family Information, referred to as AFI) and sub-address fami...

Abstract

The invention discloses a system and method for acquiring link information in a bilayer VPN (Virtual Private Network). The method comprises the following steps of: acquiring link information of connected CE (Customer Edge) equipment, forming a statistics type value according to the link information and sending a message carrying the statistics type value to entry PE (Provider Edge) equipment by egress PE equipment; and acquiring the statistics type value from the received message carrying the statistics type value and further acquiring the link information between each egress PE equipment and the connected CE equipment by the entry PE equipment, wherein the message carrying the statistics type value can be an LDP (Label Distribution Protocol) announcement message or a BGP (Booting Gateway Protocol) updating message or a PW (Pseudo-Wire) OAM (Operation, Administration and Maintenance) message. By sending the message carrying the statistics type value at the egress PE node to the entry PE equipment, the invention realizes the requirement that the link information between the egress PE and the receiving CE, such as the link number, the minimum MTU (Maximum Transfer Unit), the minimum rate, the maximum rate, and the like is acquired through counting at the root node.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a virtual private network (VPN, Virtual Private Network), in particular to a method and system for acquiring link information in a layer-2 virtual private network VPN. Background technique [0002] PWE3 is an end-to-end Layer 2 service bearer technology, which belongs to the point-to-point L2VPN (Layer 2 Virtual Private Networks, Layer 2 virtual private network). In the two PE (Provider Edge, provider edge) devices of PSN (Packet Switched Network, packet switching network), it uses LDP / RSVP (Label Distribution Protocol / Resource Reservation Protocol, Label Distribution Protocol / Resource Reservation Protocol) as Signaling, through the tunnel (maybe MPLS (Multiple Protocol Label Switching, multi-protocol label switching tunnel), GRE, L2TPv3 or others) to simulate various Layer 2 services at the CE (Customer Edge, user edge), such as ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode , Asynchronous Transmission Mode), TDM (Time Division Mult...
