Automatic parking system

An automatic parking system is disclosed. The automatic parking system includes: a monitoring device configured to monitor a parking space and a traveling path in a parking lot; an automatic drive unit configured to perform an automatic drive control for a vehicle in the parking lot to move from a current position to a predetermined target position in the parking lot based on a monitoring result of the monitoring device; and a contact determination unit configured to perform a contact determination between the vehicle in the automatic drive control and an obstacle, based on the monitoring result, or the like. In a case where the contact determination is performed by the contact determination unit, the automatic drive unit causes the vehicle to stop, and then, causes the vehicle to move to a removal position and to be parked using the automatic drive control.

Cable-actuated inertial lock for a vehicle door

A vehicle includes a door assembly having an outside door handle, a latching assembly, and a cable-actuated inertial lock having a moveable linkage disposed within a cavity of a stationary housing. A first end of the cable is connected to the handle, and a second end is connected to the linkage. The inertial lock includes a lever for actuating the latch under normal conditions when the handle is actuated, and also contains a deployable toggle piece that is stowed in the linkage. The toggle piece is configured to rotate within the linkage, and thereafter lock against a shaped inner surface of the housing in response to a threshold acceleration of the type set forth in FMVSS 206 or other standards. A torsion spring may be used to bias the toggle piece into a stowed position within the linkage.

Inertia-activated mechanism

An inertia activated mechanism that may be incorporated with a door handle assembly and counteracts a crash force. When the crash force is applied, a locking tab is in a lock position to prevent a latch mechanism from releasing and opening the vehicle door. When the crash force is removed, the locking tab returns to a normal position, allowing the latch mechanism to function normally. The locking tab is attached to a weight by a cable. The weight moves and causes displacement of the locking tab when the crash force is applied and is restrained by a spring when the crash force is removed.

Add-Lock

New non-damaging, yet installed portable door lock techniques are provided. Embodiments include both external and internal locking controls, with and without the use of keys and safety releases. In some aspects of the invention, a locking device may be non-damagingly mounted, in both a locked and unlocked condition, on the door jamb and / or mortise or other latch-accepting hole of a doorway and, with a variably-extendible door-gripping member, lock a door to the doorway and / or wall. Some aspects implement low weight and size, yet high-strength materials to enhance portability for traveling users. Some external control options are physical, as well as electronic, despite the challenges presented in this regard for temporary, portable locks.Examples of safety releases for external unlocking of the locking devices are also provided, and include remote access options. Embodiments also include cushioning and other devices for reducing lateral play, doorway damage and optimizing holding force.

Power release double-locking latch

A power-release door lock system for an automotive door having a latch, including a ratchet (18) and pawl (20), and an electro-mechanical exterior latch release mechanism (220) for actuating the pawl to release the ratchet. The system includes a controller (210) and a pressure sensitive switch (216) mounted to an outside door handle (214) of the automotive door and electrically connected to the controller. The controller is programmed to disable the pressure sensitive switch in response to a predetermined “lock” signal and enable the pressure sensitive switch in response to a pre-determined “unlock” signal, in which case the controller energizes the exterior latch release mechanism to release the ratchet in the event the pressure sensitive switch is actuated. The system eliminates the need for an exterior lock assembly and its attendant inside lock button or rod.

Leveled opening control

The opening control includes a handle, movable in rotation relative to the casing at least between leveling, ejection and opening positions, an ejection lever connected to the handle by at least one common axis of rotation with this handle and an electric actuator for controlling a pivoting of the ejection lever between at least one ejection position and a non-ejection position. In particular, the opening control includes a biasing member connected to the ejection lever and configured to exert a force for returning the lever towards the ejection position according to an ejection direction of rotation, and means for blocking the lever in its non-ejection position. The blocking means are capable of cooperating with the lever in order to release the lever when the handle is displaced in a direction of rotation opposite to the ejection direction, by application of an external push force on the handle.

Safety door handle

The invention concerns a door handle module for a vehicle with a door handle, which is mounted to move in a support frame for the opening of a door or hatch by a user, the door handle having at least one rest position and one working position, a mechanical coupling unit, through which movement of the door handle from the rest position to the working position can be transferred to a lock, a crash lock, which prevents movement of the door handle and / or coupling unit during the action of an acceleration force, especially during an accident, so that activation of the lock is avoided.

Selective one-motion door opening mechanism for door latch of vehicle

The present selective type one-motion door opening mechanism comprises a ratchet lever (32) for opening a vehicle door, an open lever (22) displaceable by an outside open handle (25), a lock lever (23) displaceable between an unlocked position (U) in which a displacement of the open lever is transmitted to the ratchet lever and an locked position (L) in which the displacement of the open lever is not transmitted to the ratchet lever, a sub-lever (35) being rotated by an inside open handle (19), and a selector pin (41) displaceable between an effective position (X) and to a ineffective position (Y). The rotation of the ratchet lever returns the lock lever to the unlocked position. The selector pin at the effective position transmits the rotation of the sub-lever to the ratchet lever, and selector pin at the ineffective position transmits the rotation of the sub-lever to the open lever.

Opening-and-closing device for vehicle door

An opening-and-closing device for vehicle door includes: a close-latch mechanism; an electric-powered releasing mechanism; an association mechanism; a relay mechanism; an electric open / close unit; and a control unit. The relay mechanism switches from a connection state to a disconnection state by the operation of an association mechanism in a cancellation direction to allow returning a first ratchet stopped at a release position. The control unit reversely controls the electric open / close unit, operates a door to be opened toward a fully opened position, operate the association mechanism in a cancellation direction, and switches the relay mechanism to the disconnection state, upon detection of operational malfunction of the electric-powered releasing mechanism during closing of the door from the fully opened position to a fully closed position by closing operation of the electric open / close unit.

Double pull hood latch with interlock device

A hood latch system for a motor vehicle includes a vehicle hood latch assembly configured in operable communication with a gearshift member. The vehicle hood latch assembly is prevented from unintended release of a vehicle hood striker, fixed to a hood of the motor vehicle, from a ratchet of the latch assembly when the gearshift member is shifted into a non-parked mode. When the gear shift member is selectively actuated in a park mode, the vehicle hood latch assembly is actuated to release the striker from the ratchet, thereby allowing the hood to be opened.
