Embodiment 1462-126 and 1462-127

[0118] Formulations 14621-126 and 1462-127 were formulated to have a lotion-like appearance with improved lather and long-wear conditioning. Dimer acid and polyisobutylene are used for long-lasting conditioning. Trimethylsilylamino-terminated dimethicone copolyols are used to reduce the tacky tactile properties of dimer acids. Emulsifiers such as PEG-80 sorbitan laurate and sorbitan monooleate are used to keep the formulation homogeneous.

Embodiment 1462-151 and 1462-161

[0142] Formulations 1462-151 and 1462-161 were formulated such that the product had a lubricious feel when applied to the hands. Polyethylene glycol is used to provide this tactile property. PEG-90M was used in such examples.

[0143] A sensory evaluation panel of 25 persons used both formulations and a reference product (with product identification concealed from panelists). The members of each evaluation team used each preparation to wash their hands at least 3 times a day (household application), and used the scale of 0-7 to evaluate, where "7" represents the highest satisfaction of the team members for some specific characteristics, except for the "has "0" in the item of "coating feeling" represents the highest satisfaction. The results are shown in Table 1.

Embodiment 1488-57

[0171] Examples 1488-57, 1488-58 and 1488-59

[0172] Formulations 1488-57, 58 and 59 are sodium lauryl ether sulfate, sodium xylene sulfonate, cocamidopropyl hydroxy sultaine, trimethylsilylamino-terminated polydimethyl Other formulations of silicone copolyol, sodium PCA, glycerin and fragrance.

[0173] In four focus group discussions involving operating room nurses, Formulation 1488-59 was found to be superior in foaming properties when evaluated as a skin cleanser for its moisturizing and cleansing benefits and its ability to be used frequently in a hospital setting. Good evaluation results were obtained in terms of skin feel and moisture.

[0174] Technicians washed their hands with formulation 1488-59 consecutively 35 times a day. No irritation was felt and no dryness of hands was found.

[0175] Three technicians washed with formulations 1488-57 and 1488-58 in the same manner as formulation 1488-59. Both formulations have good foaming, cleansing, afterfeel and moist...

Abstract

A personal cleansing composition is provided which comprises: a) at least one polymeric isobutene having from about 12 to about 156 carbon atoms, wherein the polymeric isobutene is liquid at room temperature and pressure; b) at least one dicarboxylic acid having formula (I) or a cosmetically acceptable salt of the dicarboxylic acid, wherein R1 and R3 are each a C6-C10 alkyl group and R2 and R4 are each a C6 to C10 alkylene group; c) at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic, amphoteric, nonionic, zwitterionic and combinations thereof; and d) water. The composition may also include one or more of the following: a viscosity building agent, an emulsifying agent, an amine-functional silicone and polyethylene glycol. A polyglycerol ester is a compound which provides both emulsification and viscosity control.

Description

field of invention [0001] The present invention relates to personal cleansing compositions suitable for cleansing the skin and hair. The personal cleansing compositions are in the form of oil-in-water emulsions which are stable on storage and break upon contact with the skin to release an oily phase for conditioning and moisturizing. Such compositions have the advantage of providing improved cleansing without irritating the skin or leaving the skin feeling tight or irritated and maintaining skin integrity. Background of the invention [0002] The personal care industry has long devoted itself to the study of essential skin cleansing activities. Removing dirt from the skin is a need of consumers all over the world, which has been achieved through the adoption of skin cleansing products. During the cleansing step, surfactants strip away the natural sebum that keeps the skin nourished, moisturized and protected from these elements. Frequent use of cleaning products can be ha...
