The new use means application of the norepinephrine or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof in preparation of drugs for promoting myocardial cell proliferation. According to the new use, proven by experiments, the norepinephrine can be used for promoting proliferation of myocardial cells of rats. Therefore, the norepinephrine can be applied to related fields of preparation of the drugs for promoting myocardial cell proliferation and drugs for treating or preventing cardiac diseases, and thus, a novel drug and treatment way of think is provided for treating or preventing the cardiac diseases such as myocardial infarction.
