Abstract

The invention discloses a bio-based protein adhesive for an artificial board and a preparation method thereof. The bio-based protein adhesive comprises the following components: a main agent, dispersion medium water, a reinforcing agent, a viscosity regulator, a cross-linking agent and a catalyst; wherein the main agent is deconstructed feather protein powder, the dispersion medium water is commontap water or softened water, the reinforcing agent is surface-modified nano kaolin, the viscosity modifier is polyacrylamide, the cross-linking agent is an epoxidized bark extract, and the catalyst is a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution. According to the present invention, with the chemical reagent matched treatment method, the highly-crosslinked disulfide bond in the feather protein can be effectively opened, such that the reaction activity of the feather protein is increased, and the cross-linking agent and the protein molecule can easily form the cross-linking structure; besides, the nano-kaolin can be chemically bonded to the cross-linking structure, and thereby the water-resistant bonding performance of the adhesive is further improved through stress conduction and dispersion.
