The insulation detection method comprises the following steps: closing a main positive relay and a main negative relay in a high-voltage safety box of each electric cabinet in an energy storage system; controlling an insulation detection board to perform insulation detection on the energy storage system atthe main power supply management system end, and reporting an insulation detection result to an energy storage converter; if the insulation detection result at the main power supply management systemend is that no fault exists and the insulation detection starting instruction of the energy storage converter is not received, controlling the insulation detection board to continue to perform insulation detection on the energy storage system at the main power supply management system end; and if the insulation detection result at the main power supply management system end is that the insulationfault exists, indicating the battery management system of each electric cabinet to control the main positive relay and the main negative relay in the high-voltage safety box to be disconnected.
