Abstract

The invention discloses a document image noise reduction method based on foreground masking, which belongs to the technical field of document image data processing, and comprises the following steps:counting the maximum frequency through random sampling to determine an image background color pixel value; comparing the HSV space pixel values to obtain a first foreground mask, performing adaptive local binarization to obtain a second foreground mask for the condition of non-uniform picture brightness, and performing and operation on the first foreground mask and the second foreground mask to obtain a final foreground mask; then, obtaining a pixel plate by utilizing a kmeans clustering method, obtaining a representative color, and setting a background as a background pixel obtained by previous calculation. According to the method, the background color of the document image can be effectively extracted, and the foreground mask of the document image can be obtained, especially for the document image with the foreground mainly comprising texts and image-text tables. By utilizing the foreground mask method, useless interference noise on the background can be effectively filtered and removed without causing great loss to the foreground main body, and the document image quality can be improved.
