The citral fumigant use method provided by the invention comprises the following steps: cleaning and disinfecting a sealed storage environment, adding dry and clean packaged rice or rich in the husk, and adding citral reagent (of which the concentration is greater than or equal to 99%) purchased in themarket into an open container, wherein the use amount of the citral is determined according to storage environment volume, and is suggested as 0.001-0.03%(v/v) of the grain storage space volume. The container and the rice are separably placed. The storage environment is sealed, humidity is low, temperature is 10-40DEG C, and the storage environment is kept out of the sun. According to the citral suffocating mildew prevention method adopted by the invention, rice mildewing can be effectively delayed, and a rice storage time limit is prolonged.
