The bidirectional video-on-demand method comprises the steps as follows: a digital television receives an instruction for entering into a video-on-demand page, and forwards the instruction to a CAM card through a client and a CI protocol stack which are arranged at a middleware thereof; the CAM card acquires IP address information of the corresponding video-on-demand page according to the instruction and returns the IP address information back to a browser of the digital television; and the browser of the digital television acquires and displays the corresponding video-on-demand page according to the IP address information returned from the CAM card. Through adoption of the method and the system of the present invention, video-on-demand speed can be improved, and correlated video data of bidirectional video-on-demand can be obtained from different front-end servers.
