Abstract

The invention discloses an error code conversion method, an error code conversion system, a point-to-point protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) server and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps that: the PPPoE server resolves a PPPoE error code which is generated in a dialing process, converts the PPPoE error code into an extended error code according to a PPPoE error code conversion rule table which is preset on the PPPoE server, and sends the extended error code to the mobile terminal; and the mobile terminal receives the extended error code, translates the extended error code into a specific clear text according to the PPPoE error code conversion rule table which is preset on the mobile terminal, and displays the specific clear text for a user. By the invention, the error handling capacity of the PPPoE server and the mobile terminal is improved, the mobile terminal and an operator can conveniently control a PPPoE dialing process, and the user can conveniently and quickly perform wireless fidelity (WiFi) access by using a PPPoE dialing function.
