Abstract

A real-time PCR system for detecting gene expression levels includes plural reaction regions, a like plural number of heating portions arranged corresponding to the reaction regions and having heat sources, respectively, an optical unit capable of irradiating exciting light of a specific wavelength to all of the plural reaction regions, and a like plural number of fluorescence detecting portions (15) arranged corresponding to the reaction regions, respectively. The heating portions are each provided with a temperature detector for detecting a temperature in a vicinity of the corresponding heat source and converting the temperature into an electrical signal and also with a controller for controlling a thermal dose from the corresponding heat source based on a correlation between electricalsignals and calorific values of the heat source stored beforehand.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] The present invention contains subject matter related to Japanese Patent Application JP 2007-126344 filed in the Japan Patent Office on May 11, 2007, the entire content of which is hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The invention relates to a real-time PCR system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a real-time PCR system for analyzing gene expression and the like. Background technique [0004] In recent years, hybridization detection techniques arising from DNA chips and DNA microarrays have found more and more practical applications. A DNA chip includes a wide variety of DNA probes integrally immobilized on the surface of a substrate. By using this DNA chip to detect hybridization on the surface of a substrate in the DNA chip, gene expression in cells, tissues, and the like can be comprehensively analyzed. [0005] This has now become a standard method for the quantitative a...
