Endoscope magnetic rocker switch

A rocker switch on an endoscopic camera allows multiple functions from a single Hall effect sensor. The switch features a neutral position between a rocked forward and a rocked back position. When the front of the switch is depressed a dome spring under the front is flattened and the magnet located in the rear is moved away from the sensor. Releasing the switch returns it to the neutral position. Depressing the rear of the switch brings the magnet closer to the Hall effect sensor while depressing another dome spring under the rear of the switch. Again, releasing the switch returns it to the neutral position.

Thus it is possible to provide a smaller device than the conventional example while maintaining the rigidity of the outer support section 1c. A smaller button 1 and smooth see-saw operation can be realized as well as reductions in escaped light.

Toggle-style dimmer apparatus and method

A switch for controlling delivery of electrical current to a light. The switch may include a frame, a controller connected to the frame, and a toggle connected to the frame to pivot through a range of motion having a first extreme and a second extreme, opposite the first extreme. The toggle may toggle between a first position proximate the first extreme and a second position proximate the second extreme. The switch may further include a sensor connected to the frame and positioned to detect the toggle in the second position, and a tactile switch connected to the frame and positioned to be actuated by the toggle pivoting past the first position toward the first extreme. The switch may also include a controller connected to the sensor and tactile switch to receive inputs therefrom and to execute logic to control the delivery in accordance with the inputs.

An electronic device (20) includes a housing (24) and a rocking key button assembly (200) rockingly assembled to the housing. The housing includes a shaft portion (264) and a blocking board (268). The key button assembly includes a key button (30) having two opposite key portions (312), two elastic retaining members (40), two elastic arms (50) and two triggers (60). The elastic retaining members are retained to the shaft portion. The elastic arms resist against the blocking board. The key portions can rock relative to each other and about the shaft portion, the corresponding one trigger swings relative to the other trigger and about the shaft portion. The corresponding elastic arm is compressed by the blocking board. The elastic retaining members, the elastic arms and the triggers are arranged at the same side of the key button opposite to the two keys.

Switch unit operable with rocker switches for control units

A switch unit operable with help of rocker switches for control units is disclosed herein. The switch unit is provided with a compact unit for actuating electrical contacts on circuit boards by moving push-button switches by means of push-button caps. The caps are each connected to a swiveling lever which is pivoted in a rotary bearing. Each of the swiveling levers applies mechanical pressure contact to the respective push-button switch when the respective push-button cap is rocked. The compact unit is provided with a fixed part having a circuit board. Each of the push-button switches is located sandwich-like, above and below the circuit board. The circuit board is also inserted into a groove of the rotary bearing. The compact unit is also provided with guiding parts, each itself provided with a guiding forming and a leaf spring in each guiding forming. The compact unit is also provided with a moving part in the form of the swiveling lever pivotable about the rotary bearing. The swiveling lever is divided into two tongue parts spreading V-shaped opposite to the respective push-button cap. Each of the two tongue parts extends towards an associated push-button switch. Both of the guiding formings and the leaf springs cooperate to bias the swiveling lever to an original position.
