Problems solved by technology

[0010] Therefore, in the conventional production method, in the method of growing metal fine particles on the solid surface, since the metal fine particles are supported on the solid surface, they cannot be dispersed in various solvents and binders. Can't form paint

Embodiment 1

[0106] In 10ml of 0.08mol / L cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CT 16 AB) Add 0.05ml triethylamine (pka=10.7) to the aqueous solution to dissolve. Add 0.6 ml of 0.01 mol / L silver nitrate aqueous solution therein as an aspect ratio adjuster. 0.8 ml of a 0.024 mol / l chloroauric acid aqueous solution was added to this aqueous solution, followed by 0.2 ml of acetone immediately thereafter, and the mixture was kept at 30° C. for 4 hours.

[0107] As a result, gold nanorods having a short axis of about 4 nm, a long axis of about 20 nm, an aspect ratio of about 5, and an absorption wavelength peak around 810 nm were obtained.

Embodiment 2

[0109] In 10ml of 0.56mol / L cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CT 16 AB) Add 0.10ml of 2,2',2"-nitrotriethanol (pka=7.8) to the aqueous solution to dissolve. Add 0.42ml of 0.01mol / L silver nitrate aqueous solution. Add 0.8ml of 0.024 mol / l chloroauric acid aqueous solution, then immediately add 0.2ml acetone, and keep at 30°C for 48 hours.

[0110] As a result, gold nanorods having a short axis of about 8 nm, a long axis of about 88 nm, an aspect ratio of about 11, and an absorption wavelength peak around 1150 nm were obtained.

Embodiment 3

[0112] In 10ml of 0.08mol / L cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CT 16 AB) Add 0.05ml triethylamine (pka=10.7) to the aqueous solution to dissolve. 0.6 ml of a 0.01 mol / L silver nitrate aqueous solution was added thereto. 0.8 ml of 0.024 mol / l chloroauric acid aqueous solution was added to this aqueous solution. Here, unlike Examples 1 and 2, acetone was not added. Then, it was maintained at 30° C. for 4 hours.

[0113] As a result, gold nanorods having a short axis of about 3.4 nm, a long axis of about 6.8 nm, an aspect ratio of about 2, and an absorption wavelength peak around 658 nm were obtained.

Abstract

Disclosed is a method for producing metal fine particles wherein an aqueous solution containing amines having reducing powder and an ammonium salt substantially having no reducing power is used for reducing metal ions by the amines in the presence of the ammonium salt, thereby producing rod-shaped metal fine particles. Also disclosed are metal fine particles which are characterized by being produced by such a method for producing metal fine particles and having a major axis of not more than 400 nm, a minor axis of not more than 15 nm, and an aspect ratio of more than 1.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to rod-shaped metal microparticles (hereinafter referred to as metal nanorods) having a long axis of 400 nm or less, a short axis of 15 nm or less, and an aspect ratio greater than 1, a method for producing the same, a composition containing the metal microparticles, and uses thereof . [0002] This application claims priority to Japanese Patent Application No. 2004-201982 filed on July 8, 2004 and Japanese Patent Application No. 2004-277152 filed on September 24, 2004, the contents of which are incorporated herein. Background technique [0003] When light is irradiated on metal fine particles, a resonant absorption phenomenon called plasmon absorption occurs. This absorption phenomenon differs depending on the type and shape of the metal and the absorption wavelength. For example, a metal colloid formed by dispersing spherical metal fine particles in water has an absorption region near 530nm, but when the shape of the f...
