Abstract

A power-operated device that is protected from mud, dust, or rain. Together with the torque sensor of the vehicle's power steering, the secondary steering assembly is provided. The steering shaft portion includes an input shaft and an output shaft, each of which is rotatably supported. A torque sensor is connected to connect the input shaft and the output shaft together, and the torque sensor part senses an amount of torque. A power assist portion is engaged with the output shaft, and assists in increasing a steering action according to the amount of torque sensed by the torque sensor portion or the like. A secondary steering portion is engaged to connect the input shaft with the output shaft while bypassing the torque sensor portion and reducing the amount of torque. The power steering device includes a cylindrical cover for covering the sub steering portion and the torque sensor portion.
