Abstract

Disclosed is a novel method which is effective in the treatment of mental / nervous system diseases or symptoms such as anxiety disorders and depressive disorders, is not susceptible to problems of dependency or side effects, and is highly safe. A drug for treating, preventing, or ameliorating diseases or symptoms of the mental / nervous system according to the present invention contains, as an active ingredient, any one of the following components (1)-(5): (1) disulfiram; (2) a metal complex of diethyldithiocarbamate; (3) disulphide capable of generating diethyl dithiocarbamate in a living body; (4) a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of (1), (2) or (3); and (5) a solvate of (1), (2), (3) or (4).
