Abstract

The present invention provides a packaged adhesive unit comprising an adhesive core retained within a sealable laminated double layer, where the sealable laminated double layer comprises a biaxially oriented polymer layer and a non-biaxially oriented polymer layer, and where the adhesive core comprises an asphalt adhesive or a synthetic adhesive. The invention also relates to the use of the binder unit for producing asphalt compositions. The invention further provides a method for manufacturing an asphalt composition, said method comprising the step of mixing the binder unit according to the invention with an aggregate heated to a temperature in the range of 140 DEG C to 220 DEG C in a mixing unit. Furthermore, the invention provides a method for manufacturing an asphalt pavement comprising a step in which asphalt is prepared by the method according to the invention, and a further step in which the asphalt composition is spread into a layer and the layer is compacted, in which the compaction in the step is suitably carried out at a temperature of 120 DEG C to 180 DEG C.
