In order to overcome problems of positive electrode sulfur dissolution and polysulfide ''shuttle effect''of the existing lithium-sulfur battery, the invention provides an electrolyte, the electrolyte comprises lithium salt and a non-aqueous solvent, and the non-aqueous solvent comprises a urea compound as shown in a structural formula I and a halogenated ether compound as shown in a structural formula II; R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected from H, halogen, alkyl with the carbon atom number of 1-10 or halogenated alkyl with the carbon atom number of 1-10; A is selected from O or S; and R1'and R2 'are independently selected from alkyl with the carbon atom number of 1-10 or halogenated alkyl with the carbon atom number of 1-10, and at least one of R1' and R2 'is selected from halogenated alkyl with the carbon atom number of 1-10. Meanwhile, the invention also discloses a metal-sulfur battery comprising the electrolyte.
