Abstract

The invention provides a method for testing permanganate index, which comprises the following steps: (a) a sample to be tested, a sulfuric acid solution and a potassium permanganate solution are mixed, the mixture is heated to a temperature of 94.6-94.9 DEG C according to t<ideal>= 94.831-77.737*exp(-t/113.082), and an oxidation reaction is performed during the heating process, wherein the volumeratio of the to-be-tested sample to the sulfuric acid solution to the potassium permanganate solution is 20: 1: 2, the concentration of the potassium permanganate solution is 0.31-0.33 g/L, the concentration of the sulfuric acid solution is 485-495 g/L, and the concentration of a sodium oxalate solution is 0.83-0.85 g/L; (b) excessive sodium oxalate solution is added for reduction reaction, potassium permanganate solution is dropwise added until the potential value changes suddenly, and the titration time is recorded, wherein the titration rate is 25mL/1000s; and (c) the permanganate index iscalculated according to the titration time and a formula. The permanganate index measured by adopting the method is relatively high in accuracy.
