Problems solved by technology

[0005] There are many problems with the existing technology, including difficulty in properly adjusting conventional corner bead to adjacent surfaces, uneven application of fire protection material, and lack of a barrier to wet cementitious material
Despite these well-known and long-standing problems, and a clear market need for a solution, the prior art does not disclose or suggest a viable, cost-effective solution to the above-mentioned problems of the prior art

Embodiment Construction

[0027] refer to image 3 , the corner bead 10 includes a plurality of longitudinal ribs 16 that are substantially parallel to and arranged parallel to each other with respect to a plurality of longitudinal axes including the longitudinal axis A, and distributed between the plurality of longitudinal axes and the plurality of longitudinal ribs 16 A plurality of transverse ribs 18 extend therebetween and substantially perpendicular to the plurality of longitudinal axes and the plurality of longitudinal ribs 16 . A set of void areas 20 is defined by the plurality of longitudinal ribs 16 and the plurality of transverse ribs 18 such that each void area 20 is bounded by at least two longitudinal ribs 16 and at least two transverse ribs 18 . A section of corner bead 10 comprises a single piece of welded wire mesh cut to a predetermined length L and a predetermined width W. As shown in FIG. The predetermined length L and the predetermined width W correspond to a predetermined fireproo...

Abstract

Disclosed is a method of fireproofing a component comprising a set of surfaces with a fireproofing material. A self-aligning, double wire corner bead for fireproofing structural steel along a plurality of surfaces is provided, the corner bead having a single strip of welded wire fabric cut to a predetermined width for the fireproofing thickness and bent along a plurality of longitudinally extending lines, to provide a profile having a plurality of dihedral angles is disclosed. A nose is installed along two edges. A method of finishing the corners for fireproofing of structural steel member using an improved corner bead includes the step of attaching the corner bead through a lath to the structural steel member utilizing fasteners. The mesh of the corner bead provides a dam to form a roughened surface on the first application of fireproofing material until it hardens.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of an invention patent application with an application date of August 21, 2015, an application number of 201580050970.5, and an invention titled "Self-aligned double-network corner strips for fireproofing steel structures and their usage" . technical field [0002] The present invention relates generally to corner bead for cemented fireproofing of steel structures, and more particularly to a device that self-aligns during installation and allows for accurate gauging of fireproofing material thickness along three surfaces. Background technique [0003] In the field of corner bead for fire protection of structural steel, previous approaches generally consisted of a V-shaped curved corner bead with adjustable sides (flanges). These corner strips are mostly used in plastering and painting industries. Previously used corner bead such as figure 1 Shown is made of wire mesh welded into a mesh of V-section. [0004] Such as fi...
