Whether a light detection chip is damaged or not can be determined according to the attenuation effect of the light detection chip, and the damaged light detection chip canbe correspondingly processed, so that the imaging quality of the medical equipment is improved. The light detector comprises at least one light detection module, and each light detection module comprises at least one light detection chip. The specific detection method of the light detector includes the steps: acquiring light sensing response data of all the light detection chips within specifiedtime before and after stop of light source irradiation; judging whether attenuation index parameters of the light detection chips meet preset requirements or not according to the light sensing response data; determining that the light detection chip is damaged when judging that the attenuation index parameters of one optional light detection chip do not meet the preset requirements.
