This is the first time that the specific species of diesel oil have been obtained from the mass spectrum, mainly olefinic and alkane components (species distributed from 4 carbons in the short chain to 22 carbons in the long chain). Such viscous samples cannot be achieved by direct ionization with traditional electrospray. Moreover, almost complete parent ion peaks obtained by using vacuum ultraviolet lamp radiation are convenient for us to analyze very complex mixtures, as shown in this example.
