The engine cooling system can automatically open and close a cooling liquid inlet according to a work state of an engine to prevent cooling water from flowing outwards in a process of replacing cooling water of a filter, avoids environmental pollution and waste and saves cost. The filtering device comprises a filter seat and a cooling liquid filter and further comprises a pressure valve, wherein the filter seat is provided with a cooling liquid inlet and a cooling liquid outlet, the cooling liquid filter is arranged on the filter seat, and the pressure valve can be opened under the push of the high-pressure cooling liquid to plug the cooling liquid inlet and the cooling liquid outlet after the pressure is released. When the engine works, water output by a water pump can generate pressure to push the pressure valve, and the pressure valve can be opened to open the cooling liquid inlet and the cooling liquid outlet.
