The method includes an exhausting gas detecting and diagnosing step (1), an environment-friendly intake system maintenance step (2), an environment-friendly engine combustion chamber maintenance step (3), an environment-friendly engine lubrication system maintenance step (4), an environment-friendly exhaust system maintenance step (5), and an environment-friendly engine oil-way system maintenance step (6). The method is characterized in that the environment-friendly engine combustion chamber maintenance step (3) and the environment-friendly engine lubrication system maintenance step (4) are combined, and disassembling-free long-term environment-friendly maintenance is performed by adopting special engine cleaning agent having high adhesion for metal materials; according to the environment-friendly engine oil-way system maintenance step (6), disassembling-free long-term environment-friendly maintenance is performed by adopting biomass diesel cleaning agent or gasoline cleaning agent. The long-term environment-friendly maintenance method has the advantages that the engine can be maintained to be consistent with qualified emissions targets by utilizing the method for long time, power can be optimized significantly, and fuel consumption can be saved by about 10%.
