The method comprises the following steps of: (a) performing intraperitoneal injection on a Wistar rat by using human thyroid stimulating hormone to form hyperthyroidism; and (b) performing internal irradiation on the Wistar rat through radioactive 131I. The method has the advantages that an animal model is easy to manufacture, low in cost and easy to repeat; the method is high in success rate, hypothyroidism exists in 85 percent of models, and thyroid tissues have universal characteristics of the hypothyroidism; 100 percent of models have the characteristics of thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy; actual natural courses and states of diseases are simulated, the hyperthyroidism appears, and then the internal irradiation is performed through the 131I to form the hypothyroidism; and in the testing process, the method is low in animal death rate.
