Abstract

The method comprises the following steps of: dismantling the original container in a dismountable moving device; taking a high-activity spent radioactive source out of the original hanging basket and encapsulating; putting the encapsulated tube into an encapsulatable container; putting the container into a long-term storage container which can be stored for a long time directly; or taking the container out of the long-term storage container and storing the container in a deep well. The device comprises a device main body, wherein a shielding body is arranged on the device main body and is provided with a mechanical hand and a liquid observation window; a control part of the mechanical hand is arranged outside the device main body; and a lifting device and a welding device are arranged in the device main body. The high-activity spent radioactive source which is conditioned through the method has the characteristics that the source has high volume reduction rate, is retrievable and can be stored in a pit or the deep well.
