The preparation method of the drug powder comprises the following steps of: preparing the six traditional Chinese medicines according to the proportion in the formula, drying, uniformly mixing, milling into fine powder with a pulverizer and uniformly mixing. The drug powder is applied externally by the following steps of: cleaning the burn or scald part of a patient, smearing rape seed oil or sesame oil on the skin surface of the burn or scald part and then spreading the drug powder. The drug powder for treating burn or scald provided by the invention has obvious effect in clinical application; and the patients suffering from light burn or scald can be cured after using the drug powderonce without scar leaving, and the patients suffering from serious burn or scald can be cured after using the drug powder 2-3 times.
