The automatic installation method comprises the steps as follows: uncompressing a first start-up file and mapping the file to be a file system in the memory; collecting peripheral information in the first Linux operating system and packing the information into an installation script; receiving installation requirements of the operating system, selecting a second Linux operating system from an installation source and extracting an inner core and a second start-up file from the second Linux operating system; adding the automatic installation script to the second start-up file after uncompressing the second start-up file so as to generate a third start-up file; invoking an inner core executive program of the first Linux operating system and operating a second inner core and the third start-up file; and installing the second Linux operating system in a target hard disk automatically through the automatic installation script of the third start-up file.
