Abstract

A micro-projection optical engine comprises an illumination device, a polarization optical splitter, a monolithic micro-display panel and a protection lens, wherein the illumination device comprises a red light source module, a blue light source module, a green light source module, an X-type color combination lens and a lens group. The lens group is arranged on an output light path of the X-type color combination lens. The polarization optical splitter is arranged on the output light path of the illumination device. The monolithic micro-display panel is arranged at one side, which is not adjacent to the illumination device, of the polarization optical splitter, modulates and converts the received polarized light into another polarized light which is vertical to the polarized light, and makes the other polarized light carry image information. The projection lens receives and projects the other polarized light carrying image information. The invention improves the efficiency of the optical engine by the lens group, meanwhile, the whole optical engine only involves the illumination device, the polarization optical splitter, the monolithic micro-display panel and the projection lens, the invention has simple light path design, compact structure, uniform radiance, small size and lower production cost.
