[0079] The machine translation method of this embodiment converts the informal source language into a formalized target language, which mainly includes two steps. The first step is for the initial segment of the informal source language. First, interactively Segment the fixed segments one by one (label the fixed segment mark) and mark the meaning mark of the fixed segment until the last fixed segment, and then combine the non-fixed segments interactively layer by layer (mark the combination mark) and mark the non-fixed The core component markers of the segment, the relational markers, and an unfixed segment composed of the entire initial segment. The second step is to automatically use the fixed segment conversion rules to convert the fixed segment of the source language into the segment of the target language, thereby transforming the informal source language into the formalized target language.

Abstract

The invention discloses a machine translation method and a machine translation system. A user can correctly (without causing any lexical ambiguity) translate a mother language into any foreign language that the user does not understand completely. The machine translation method comprises the following two steps of: formalizing a non-formal source language in an interactive or automatic way; and converting the formalized source language into a formal target language or a non-formal target language in an automatic way. The machine translation system comprises a source language formalizing module acting in the interactive or automatic way and a formal or non-formal target language converting module acting in the automatic way. The source language formalizing module is independent of the target language converting module, so the system is easy to expand. The formalization of the source language is a common basis for translating the source language into various target languages, so the system is particularly suitable for one-to-many machine translation.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a machine translation method and system, in particular to a formalized processing-based machine translation method and system. Background technique [0002] Translating text from one language to another is generally a tedious job requiring experienced translators. Not long after computers were invented, researchers began to use computers to help with natural language translation. The earliest machine translation (MT) systems depended on large bilingual dictionaries in which source language (SL) words were recorded corresponding to one or more target language (TL) synonyms. Soon, machine translation was abandoned, apparently because the syntactic and grammatical rules of dictionaries were so complex that experts could not develop a descriptive and comprehensive rule set. [0003] Machine translation systems are generally classified as direct translation, transformation-based translation, or intermediate language-based ...
