Abstract

The invention relates to an electromagnetic separator and a method for separating ferromagnetic materials. The electromagnetic separator comprises two or more solenoids (6, 7) which are arranged in a rotatable roller (1) and connected to a power source (8) with continuous current; and the power source (8) is used for generating a magnetic field suitable for separating the ferromagnetic materials and provides basically constant current in real time.
