[0014] As shown in the drawings, one component of the present invention is a cultivation container 10, which provides a limited space for the growth of plant roots. The growing medium can be any commonly used medium, such as a mixture of 80% peat moss and 20% perlite potting soil. The opening 12 on the cultivation container 10 allows excess water in the container to drain out.
[0015] The cultivation container 10 can also be insulated from direct contact with the underlying soil. This can be accomplished by, for example, placing the container 10 on a floor constructed above the underlying soil, placing a piece of plastic or other barrier between the soil and the container, or elevating the container. A preferred method, shown in the figures, is to elevate the container 10 on a base 14 . This not only isolates the container 10 from the soil, but also helps in better drainage.
