A container assembly and method for storing, treating, transporting and stabilizing a biological sample includes a container, a closure member and a sample holder removably received in the container. The sample holder can be a platform-like device dimensioned to be supported on a ledge formed in the side wall of the container. The sample holder includes a central cavity for receiving the sample and immersing the sample in the stabilizing agent in the container. The closure member includes a body member to close the top end of the central cavity of the sample holder and to limit movement of the sample holder in the container. In another embodiment, the sample holder has a closure cap for closing the open top end of the cavity. The container includes a liquid reagent in an amount sufficient to treat the biological sample. The biological sample is retained in a predetermined containment area of the container to maintain the biological sample immersed in the reagent without regard to the orientation of the container.

Provided is a sensor operative to track changes in a liquid level of a hand-held liquid container, the sensor comprising: an ultrasonic liquid-level sensor configured to indicate a liquid level of a liquid in a hand-held liquid container, wherein the ultrasonic liquid-level sensor is capable of indicating the liquid level when the surface of the liquid is less than 20 centimeters away from the ultrasonic liquid-level sensor; a radio transmitter; and a processor configured to draw power from a portable power source, receive liquid-level indications from the ultrasonic liquid-level sensor, and cause the radio transmitter to transmit data indicative of changes in the liquid level.

A container assembly for storing and stabilizing a biological sample includes a container, a closure cap and a sample holder coupled to the closure cap and removably received in the container. The sample holder can be a basket-like device coupled to an inner face of the cap and includes a central cavity for receiving the sample and immersing the sample in the reagent in the container. The closure cap includes a body member with a dimension to displace a volume of air and reduce the head space to ensure that the sample holder is completely immersed in the reagent. The sample holder has a closure member for closing the open top end of the cavity.

An apparatus and method for determining a modulation order of packet data to be transmitted through a subcarrier in a transmission apparatus. In the apparatus and method, transmitter physical channels encode and modulate data to transmit the user data with OFDM symbols. A controller outputs packet data to the transmitter physical channels, and determines the number of transmission slots, the number of OFDM symbols, the number of subchannels, and a size of an encoder packet. A modulation order and code rate decider receives, from the controller, the number of transmission slots, the number of OFDM symbols, the number of subchannels, and a size of an encoder packet, calculates a Modulation order Product code Rate (MPR), determines a modulation order according to the MPR, and outputs the determined modulation order to a corresponding physical channel.

An improved insulated cooler has accessory holders detachably secured to its outer wall. An exemplary holder is provided for containerized drinks. The holder is made of a rigid plastic upper ring at the top and may have flexible fabric or mesh lower portion at the bottom such that the holders can be nested into receptacles in the top surface of the lid for convenient storage. This arrangement provides the benefit of permitting the user to access conveniently the contents of the ice chest without having to remove drinks that otherwise would be sitting on the lid of the ice chest. There also may be one or more connections on the ice chest that permit a fishing rod holder, an umbrella holder, or other accessory holder to be affixed to the cooler.

Stackable containers that, in various embodiments, are adapted to be vertically and/or horizontally interlocked with other, like, containers to, for example, increase the stability of stacks of the containers. In one embodiment, a stackable container comprises: (A) a top surface comprising a shoulder portion that extends upwardly from the top surface and that is substantially disposed within a perimeter defined by the top surface; (B) a bottom surface defining a stacking recess; (C) a plurality of substantially vertical side surfaces that extend between the top surface and the bottom surface. In various embodiments, a recessed portion of the bottom surface adjacent the stacking recess is adapted to substantially mate with at least a portion of a shoulder portion of a like container.

A bulk container and method suitable for forming an interlinked wall. In one embodiment, the bulk container may generally include sidewalls, lifting straps for transporting the container, and a closeable top. Linking loops may be provided on at least one sidewall which are each configured to be engaged by connecting members to link adjacent bulk containers together for forming an interlinked wall. In one embodiment, the connecting member is a belt which may be tensioned. Another possible embodiment includes a linking strap affixed to the sidewall panel and to which the linking loops may be attached or formed as an integral part thereof. A barrier wall system and method of forming the same from interlinked bulk containers is also provided. The barrier wall system is suitable for use in, but not limited to, shoreline erosion protection and flood control applications.

The present invention provides improved thermally insulative containers (e.g., ice chests, coolers, lunch boxes, etc.) that include one or more isolation compartment(s) that may be isolated from a storage compartment holding ice or other cooling agent(s). The isolation compartment may be used to store items that are to be kept dry and at a higher temperature than food, beverages, and other items that are typically kept in the storage compartment. In some examples, the one or more isolation compartment(s) may include thermal vents between the compartments for varying the temperature between the one or more isolation compartment(s) and the storage compartment.

A daily water bottle consumption system that includes a bottle with a threaded neck and a top opening. Attached to the neck is an intermediate cap with internal threads that selectively connect to the external threads on the bottle's neck. Formed on the intermediate cap is a threaded spout to which a removable lid is attached. The lid includes a cylindrical shaped lid body with a first recessed cavity in which a rotating turn dial is disposed. Disposed between the first recessed cavity and the turn dial is a snap ring that enables the turn dial to be manually turned and click into one of a plurality of coded positions. Formed on the turn dial is a handle which the user grasps and rotates to indicate the number of times the bottle has been filled with a desired liquid in a 24 hour period.

A nestable and stackable food storage container has a base with a bottom panel. The bottom panel has an upper side, a lower side, and a base perimeter. The base also has a cylindrical side wall extending generally upward from and around the base perimeter. The side wall terminates at a top edge and defines an open top. A lid has a top panel with a top side, a bottom side, and a lid perimeter. A nesting structure is provided at least in part on a portion of the base and at least in part on a portion of the lid. A grid system is created on an inner compartment facing surface adjacent at least one of the compartment outer walls. Tool packages having at least one male peg member are releasably engaged within selected receptacles providing multiple locations and orientations about the grid system for the tool packages.

Systems and methods for providing removable storage tanks in an appliance having a pedestal are disclosed. The systems include a storage container located in the pedestal and configured to house an additive. In addition, a cover may be positioned within the pedestal to secure the container within the pedestal. The methods include manufacturing the pedestal such that when a storage container is placed in the pedestal, the storage container will fit in a predetermined orientation. The storage container may be manufactured such that when the storage container is placed in the pedestal the storage container can be secured in the pedestal with a cover.

A modular collection of components from which a variety of thermally insulated and thermal controlled containers can be assembled. A blow molded synthetic resin container having a body of generally V-shaped cross section defined by a pair of V-shaped side walls, end walls extending therebetween, and a bottom wall. A cylindrical neck is open at its upper end, and an upwardly inclined shoulder extends between the upper ends of the side and end walls and the lower end of the neck. One of the side walls has a pair of wall portions which converge inwardly of the body towards the center axis of the body and the other of the side walls has wall portions which converge outwardly from the axis of the body. The other panel has a recess therein for a label.

A portable, single-use container for separately containing a first and second consumable products. The container includes a first compartment and a second compartment. The first compartment tapers at an upper portion thereof to form a spout. The spout facilitates dispensing of a contained first consumable product from the first compartment. The second compartment, in turn, tapers at an upper portion thereof to form a mouth. The mouth facilitates dispensing of a second consumable product from the second compartment. The first and second compartments are assembled to one another in a side-by-side fashion such that the spout abuts the mouth. With this configuration, during use, a first consumable product and a second consumable product can be dispensed from the container in close proximity to one another for convenient consumption. In one preferred embodiment, the first compartment contains a volume of milk and the second compartment contains a quantity of cereal.
