Embodiment 1

[0084] A representative composition of an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation and a representative composition of a soluble granule (SG) formulation are given below:

[0085] emamectin benzoate emulsifiable concentrate

[0086] Component Trade name %w / w

[0087] emamectin paraben (Technical AI) 2.40

[0088] Butylated Hydroxytoluene BHT 1.00

[0089] Paraffin oil Semtol 70 6.40

[0090] POE 30 Castor Oil Witconol 300 18.00

[0091] Polysorbate Tween 80 18.00

[0092] 1-Hexanol Epal 6 54.20

[0093] The emulsified composition is made by blending all ingredients together and stirring until dissolved.

[0094] emamectin benzoate soluble granule formulation

[0095] Component Trade name %w / w

[0096] emamectin paraben (Technical AI) 5.31

[0097] Polysiloxane Rhodorsil EP 6703 0.10

[0098] Sodium alkylnaphthalene sulfonate Sellogen DFL 1.00

[0099] Sodium N-methyl N-oleoyl taurate Adinol OT-64 7.50

[0100] Anhydrous Lactose Direct Tableting Grade 86.09

Embodiment 2

[0125] emamectin benzoate soluble granule formulation

[0126] Component Trade name %w / w

[0127] emamectin paraben (Technical AI) 5.5

[0128] Fumed silica Cab-O-Sil M5 0.75

[0129] Sodium N-methyl N-oleoyl taurate Geropon T77 0.75

[0130] Polysiloxane EP 6703 0.1

[0131] Anionic Surfactant Blend Witcosperse D60 3.0

[0132] Starch Sta-RX 10.0

[0133] Lactose Anhydrous Direct Tableting Grade 79.9

[0134] A dry ingredient soluble granule formulation is made by blending all powders together. 15% water was added to the dry ingredients and the resulting powder was extruded with an LCI Benchtop extruder with a 0.8 mm sieve to obtain wet granules which were then dried overnight at 54°C.

[0135] In the field trials comparing efficacy described below, the efficacy of the soluble granule formulation was statistically equal to that of the emulsified composition formulation. Both formulations were subjected to the acute eye irritation test described below and the emulsifie...

Embodiment 3

[0137] emamectin benzoate soluble granule formulation-

[0138] components (%w / w)

[0139] emamectin paraben

[0140] As demonstrated in this example, the amount of active ingredient (emamectin benzoate) need not be controlled to 5%, but can be greater than 5%. Various indicated Compositions. When the granules were dispersed in water, a clear solution containing emamectin benzoate was obtained.

Abstract

The present invention is directed to a pesticidal composition of a water-soluble pesticide and processes for its manufacture. More specifically, the invention relates to a soluble granule (SG) pesticidal formulation comprising a water-soluble pesticide and a water-soluble filler. The present invention provides a pesticidal formulation with efficacy equal to the corresponding liquid formulation, yet with improved handler safety, such as lower eye irritation.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of the application titled "Pesticide Preparation" with an international filing date of November 4, 1996 (international application number PCT / US96 / 17640) and a national phase application number of 96199398.7. technical field [0002] The invention relates to a pesticide composition containing a water-soluble pesticide and a preparation method thereof. More specifically, the present invention relates to soluble granule (SG) formulations containing a water-soluble pesticide and a water-soluble filler. Background technique [0003] Emulsifiable concentrate (EC) agricultural formulations of pesticides are well known in the art. These formulations usually contain, in addition to the pesticide, emulsifiers and dispersants to form a homogeneous solution. However, since these agricultural formulations are liquid, they have many disadvantages. In particular, liquid pesticides must be used with care to minimize safety concerns, esp...
