Embodiment Construction

[0020] The systems and technologies described here are related to the exchange infrastructure for collaborative processing between various processing components.

[0021] figure 1 A simplified block diagram of the exchange-based integration system 100. The system 100 includes a switching infrastructure (XI) 110 for collaborative processing between internal components (IC) 102 of the enterprise and between external components (EC) 104 that communicate with one or more ICs 102 through a firewall 105. IC 102 and EC 104 represent any of multiple processes or services and their software and hardware, such as web portals, purchase or sales procedures, emails, business management procedures, target planning procedures, etc., preferably web-based applications program. Each IC 102 / EC 104 communicates with one or more other components in accordance with at least one of a plurality of communication protocols or standards.

Abstract

An exchange infrastructure for message-based exchange and integration of a collection of heterogeneous software components is disclosed. The exchange infrastructure includes a repository for storing design-time collaboration descriptions of a plurality of software components, and a directory for storing configuration-specific collaboration descriptions of a runtime system landscape. The exchange infrastructure further includes a runtime engine configured for message-based exchange of information based on the configuration-specific collaboration descriptions. At runtime, the runtime engine receives messages, and resolves intended or required receivers based on message content and parameters provided by the configuration-specific collaboration descriptions from the directory.

Description

Technical field [0001] The following description of the present invention relates to enterprise systems and related architectures, as well as technologies for collaborative business processes. Background technique [0002] Companies face increasing demands for integration and collaboration in their information and enterprise software systems. In most current system landscape presentations, many components are directly connected with other components in a one-to-one relationship, and various integration capabilities are linked to each application component and each single mapping program by hardware. Under these conditions, collaborative sharing of information or process control is difficult or even impossible. Upgrading, changing, or expanding the infrastructure to directly connect components is challenging and resource-intensive. [0003] However, new electronic business collaboration generally requires the connectivity of all applications within and outs...
