Abstract

The invention provides a method for maintaining the working position on a textile machine, which is characterized in that a yarn is transmitted to a winding device and then is caught and transmitted to a yarn cutting device for cutting off through the winding device; and the yarn is strained on a cutting edge and is cut off through a relative motion along the cutting edge. The invention also provides a textile machine, which is provided with a plurality of same working positions. The invention is characterized in that a winding device (4) is arranged at each working position for winding the provided yarn (F); the textile machine comprises a maintenance device capable of moving along the working positions; a yarn leading-in device (21) and a yarn leading-out device (20) are arranged for transmitting the yarn; a rotatable yarn catching device (47) is arranged for receiving and straining the transmitted yarn (F) and making the yarn drop; the yarn cutting device (6), which is fixed relative to the yarn catching device (47), is arranged and is provided with at least a cutting edge (600) for cutting off the strained and dropped yarn (F); and wherein the yarn cutting device (6) is used for enabling the yarn to perform the relative motion along the cutting edge (600).
