According to the self-protection starting system of the marine diesel engine provided by the invention, a method of embedding barring abnormality detection and diagnosis into the blowing starting process is adopted, no man-made interruption in the diesel engine starting process is realized by utilizing the speed reducing mechanism and the clutch mechanism, and self-protection in the diesel engine starting process is realized through the detection module and the processing control module, so that the marine diesel engine realizes active abnormality troubleshooting before starting, normal starting conditionsare met, and the purpose of safe starting is ensured.
