Embodiment Construction

[0028] In order to better illustrate the technical solution of the present invention, the present invention will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.

[0029] Process flow of the present invention such as figure 2 As shown, the following combination figure 2 The medium temperature annealing technology of this superconducting cavity is introduced in detail.

[0030] 1. Before the medium temperature annealing of the superconducting cavity, in order to remove the defects (potholes, bumps, pollution) on the surface (mainly the inner surface) of the superconducting cavity, the inner and outer surfaces must be pre-treated. The general process is as follows:

[0031] 1. Perform visual inspection. The inner and outer surfaces of the superconducting cavity must be smooth, flat and clean. Optically inspect the area near the weld on the inner surface to ensure that there are no obvious defects.

[0032] 2. After ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a medium-temperature annealing method for a superconducting cavity. The method comprises: 1) electrochemically polishing and cleaning the inner surface of the superconducting cavity; 2) if the superconducting cavity is a superconducting cavity from which hydrogen has been removed, then Step 3); otherwise, perform high-temperature annealing on the superconducting cavity, and then proceed to step 3); 3) place the superconducting cavity in a vacuum furnace, evacuate and heat to a medium-temperature zone, and keep warm for a period of time for medium-temperature annealing. Compared with the traditional superconducting cavity processing technology, the invention can further reduce the surface resistance of the superconducting cavity, thereby reducing the power consumption of the superconducting cavity and simplifying the process flow.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a medium-temperature annealing method for a superconducting cavity, which belongs to the technical fields of particle accelerators, radio frequency superconductivity and low temperature. Background technique [0002] A superconducting cavity is a microwave resonant cavity used to accelerate charged particles in an accelerator, providing energy for charged particles, and its role in a superconducting accelerator is similar to that of a car's engine. At present, the conventional superconducting cavity is made of pure metal niobium, which has obvious advantages compared with the normal temperature cavity (high acceleration gradient, small cavity wall loss, large beam aperture, etc.). Therefore, a considerable proportion of the large-scale accelerator devices built and under construction in the world in recent years use superconducting cavities to accelerate various charged particles (electrons, protons, heavy ions...), such as the...
