Embodiment Construction

[0012] In FIG. 1 showing a conventional automatic phase controller, designated by reference numeral 10 is a burst gate pulse generation circuit. Correspondingly, 12 is a burst signal detector, 14 is a reference signal generator, 16 is a phase comparator, and 18 is a phase compensation circuit.

[0013] The color burst gate pulse generation circuit 10 generates a valid color burst pulse within the color burst signal period by receiving the horizontal synchronization (Hsync) signal separated from the reproduced combined TV signal (the timing between the horizontal synchronization signal and the color burst signal relationship is specified in EIARS-170A).

[0014] The color burst detector 2 uses the color burst gate pulse generated by the color burst gate pulse generator 10 to detect the color burst signal in the reproduced color signal.

[0015] The reference color signal generator 14 outputs a reference color signal (for the NTSC system) of 3.58 MHz synchronized with the horiz...

Abstract

The present invention provides an automatic phase control method and automatic phase controller suitable for the method are disclosed, which can effectively cope with a phase error which is outside a proper operation region of a phase comparator, in which the phase comparator detects a phase difference between a reproduced color signal and a reference color signal. The automatic phase controller includes a region determiner, when it determines the phase difference between the synchronization signal and the reference color signal is in a negative characteristic region of the phase comparator, a phase inverter inverts the phase of the reference color signal generated from the reference color signal generator and provides the phase-inverted result to the phase comparator and phase compensation circuit. Therefore, a rapid and stable phase control operation can be performed.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to automatic phase control devices used in, for example, optical disk players and video tape recorders. Specifically, the present invention has developed an automatic phase control apparatus which can effectively compensate any phase error using the output of a phase comparator which detects a phase difference between a reproduced color signal and a reference color signal. Background technique [0002] In a color image processor such as a CD player or a VCR, since the reproduced color signal always has some fluctuations along the time axis, an automatic phase controller is used to eliminate this time axis fluctuation. The automatic phase controller uses a phase comparator to detect the phase difference between the color burst signal in the reproduced color signal and the internally generated reference color signal, and uses this phase difference to compensate the phase of the reproduced color signal. Therefore, the phase ...
