The composite material includes, by weight, 40-52 parts of PBT resin, 14-25 parts of a halogen-free composite flame retardant, 25-30 parts of glass fibers, 1-5 parts of a toughening agent, 0.1-0.5 part of an antioxidant and 0.5-1 part of other processing aids. The halogen-free composite flame retardant is prepared by compounding a metal phosphate flame retardant, an organic phosphate flame retardant and an inorganic flame retardant. The halogen-free flame-retardant reinforced PBT engineering material has good mechanical properties and flame-retardant properties, high CTI (600V) and high GWIT (with the initiation temperature of glowing filament being 800 DEG C, without combustion during the whole process), and is environmentally friendly, and good in processing performance. In particular, the halogen-free composite flame retardant is low in cost, has a price 40-50% lower than the price of similar imported flame retardants, and has great market competitiveness.
