Abstract

A forward towing guidance method for light road rescue equipment based on vehicle bottom shadow feature locating license plate is disclosed. Firstly, a region of interest of vehicle bottom shadow is set. Secondly, the underbody shadow segmentation is performed on the gray-scale image of the region. Next, an operation of extracting shadows from the vehicle bottom is carried out; then, according tothe position of the shadow under the vehicle, the region of interest of the license plate is determined, and the image of the region is converted into a gray image, which is processed by Gaussian smoothing filtering, Prewitt edge detection and binarization in the vertical direction.
