Embodiment 1

[0238] Example 1 : Control of Burkholderia glum (=Pseudomonas glum) attack on rice with Isotianil

[0239] This example demonstrates the efficacy of a composition containing Isotianil against Burkholderia glum bacterial disease primarily infecting panicles of rice crops.

[0240] A field trial was carried out in Colombia in 2011 to evaluate the performance of Isotianil against natural infection by Burkholderia vitrifaciens on rice crops (native variety Fedearroz 473).

[0241] For the first trial, a typical fungicide formulation containing 200 g Isotianil / L was applied in 2 consecutive sprays at BBCH29 (tillering stage) and BBCH52 (heading stage), in the second trial only at BBCH52 administration. Experiments were performed according to standard laboratory practice.

[0242] Test 1:

[0243] Evaluation of the incidence of Burkholderia glum on the panicles 44 days after the 2nd spray confirmed that when applied at rates in the range of 100-200 g active ingredient (ai) / ha ...

Embodiment 2a

[0253] Example 2a: Control of Phloembacterium sp. Candidatus Liberibacter spec. ) invasion

[0254] This example exemplifies the composition against Phloembacterium spp. ( Candidatus Liberibacter ) of bacterial disease (also known as HLB Huanglongbing or Citrus Greening Disease). In order to propose a solution to prevent infection of new fruit trees and to prevent the spread of the disease in existing fruit trees, this trial was carried out to test the Phosphorus aluminum ® )Compositions.

[0255] Materials and methods:

[0256] Six different treatments were designed in the experiment. Triplicate replicates were performed for each treatment, using 10 healthy plants per replicate.

[0257] The product is applied by foliar application (spray until run off). Eleven days after foliar application of the product, the plants were infected as follows: by grafting 3 diseased citrus shoots into each healthy citrus plant, the pathogenic bacterium Phloembacterium asiatica (...

Embodiment 2b

[0272] Embodiment 2b: Using Isotianil to Control Invasion of Xanthomonas campestris Pv. citrus on Citrus

[0273] This example demonstrates the efficacy of a composition containing Isotianil against Xanthomonas campestris pv. citrus bacterial disease that primarily infects citrus leaves.

[0274] Greenhouse trials were conducted in Japan in 2000 to evaluate the performance of Isotianil against Xanthomonas campestris pv. citrus infection on the citrus cultivar ShiroyanagiNavel. One day after application of the bacterial strain of X. campestris pv. citrus, isolated citrus leaves were artificially inoculated with wounds.

[0275] To prepare a suitable active compound preparation, 1 part by weight of the active compound is mixed with the stated amounts of solvents and emulsifiers, and the concentrate is diluted with water to the desired concentration.

[0276] - Solvent: 28.5 parts by weight of acetone

[0277] - Emulsifier: 1.5 parts by weight of polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl e...
