Abstract

The invention provides application of flos carthami parasite in preparing a drug or a healthcare product preventing and treating gout. By inspecting the influence of flos carthami parasite extract onthe ankle joint swelling degree, the activity of serum uric acid and xanthine oxidase and the contents of serum IL-1 beta, IL-8 and TNF-a of a rat with acute gouty arthritis of a sodium urate induction injury, and by inspecting the influence of the flos carthami parasite extract on the human umbilical veins endothelial cell activity, the contents of cell supernatant, ICAM-1 and IL-1 beta, the activity of XOD and the expression amount of XOD mRNA in the cells of the sodium urate induction injury, it is found that the flos carthami parasite extract has the pharmacologic action of relieving goutfor the first time.
