Abstract

The invention discloses polyimide and a preparation method thereof. Polyimide disclosed by the invention is of a closed loop structure formed by polymerization of a repetitive unit represented by a formula I (shown in description), wherein Ar represents a tetracarboxyl residue and a derivative thereof. Polyimide disclosed by the invention has a relatively large specific surface area, an adjustable molecular gap size and good elasticity and further has stretch resistance and liquid crystal properties. Triamine is of a non-aromatic structure, and a long conjugated structure of an original product is broken through, so that a transparent product can be obtained; and polyimide can be applied to flexible display substrate materials.
