The purging end cap comprises end caps respectively arranged at two ends of a to-be-jointed quartz sleeve section to seal the two ends of the to-be-jointed quartz sleeve section, wherein the end caps contact with the excircle surface of the to-be-jointed quartz sleeve section and do not contact with the inner bore of the quartz sleeve, and the end caps are provided with short tubes used for inputting gas into the inner bore of the quartz sleeve. The invention also discloses a method for purging of the inner bore of the quartz sleeve via the purging end cap. The purging end cap and purging method provided by the invention can reduce leakage of inert process gas during butt joint of quartz sleeves, guarantee the fluidity of the inert process gas at a low pressure and prevent the inner bore of the quartz sleeve from contacting with tool parts during butt joint.
