Abstract

The method comprises the following steps of obtaining a gray release strategy corresponding to an updating version of a specified application; receiving a version updating request sent by a terminal, wherein the specified application is installed in the terminal; detecting whether the terminal information carried in the version updating request conforms to the gray release strategy or not; and if the terminal information conforms to the gray release strategy, issuing updating configuration corresponding to the updating version to the terminal. The version updating method and the version updating device solve the problems that a random drawing mode is used for gray release in the prior art, and the mode is lack of pertinence, so that the updating version cannot be comprehensively tested, and great risk exists under the condition of large-scale updating. The goal of selecting the terminal for testing in a targeted way according to the gray release strategy is achieved, so that the updating version can be comprehensively tested; the updating version stability is improved; and the risk during the large-scale updating is reduced.
